Wealth inequality - Timothy Snyder
Updated: Feb 21, 2019
"So #wealth #inequality means the lack of social events, it means a totally different horizon, it means you stop thinking time is an arrow moving forward to something better and you start thinking, maybe the good old days were better. Nostalgic loops.
You start thinking it can't be my fault that I am not doing better, so who's fault and clever politicians instead of providing policy for you provide enemies for you, they provide language for you with which you can explain why you're not doing so well. They blame the other, whether it's the #Chinese, or the #Muslims or the #Jews or the #Blacks or the #Immigrants."
Instead of opting for information aversion and getting riled against others, blaming others for our problems let us make an effort to learn, to acknowledge facts and to act to bring forth change that benefits us all with- the realization that the change we seek may not be actualized by us but we've made it possible for the future generations to be benefactors.
