Do you realize that by spending time you earn money, another arbitrary unit that holds value because of convention, conformity- no matter what you do, what you spend to gain finances is time. Observing society, specially the privileged members of it, it seems that people only value money, wealth and consumption. All of whom are subjects of convention and conformity all for the sake of convenience.
If we conformed on matters of greater concerns far extending the self such as humanistic morals, ethics we would be in a better position than we are today. A simple notion that we could be much better, if we simply actualized our capacity to be better.
Regardless of how much material, wealth you have we all exist for a finite amount of time- wouldn’t that make time the most precious thing we own? Please do realize this sense of ownership is rather illusive because it isn’t a physical reality. It would immensely benefit us to value our time and in turn we would learn to value the time others afford to us.
Time for financial responsibilities is necessary expenditure; but, time invested in self reflection, growth- including self-education and consciously garnering experiences is equally vital. Negligence and ignorance on any matter does us no good.
Wouldn’t you agree?
